Girls on the Run is a life changing learning program for girls ages 8-13. The program is designed to increase physical activity and emotional health by providing girls with the tools to make healthy decisions and form healthy self images. The goal is to encourage positive emotional, social, mental, spiritual, and physical development through curriculum based running/walking activities.
Molly Barker founded the program in 1996 and Girls on the Run now exists in over 160 communities in the U.S. and Canada and over 99,000 girls have completed the program since its inception. To learn more about Molly and the programs history visit www.girlsontherun.org.
SPRING 2012 GOTR 5K
Thank you to all of our volunteers, sponsors, board members, and most of all coaches that made our Spring 2012 Girls on the Run 5K such a success! We are so grateful for all that you contribute to make this such a special event for our girls! Our girls and families had an awesome day in spite of the weather, lots of smiles and sunshine through the rain!
- GRAND PRIZE WINNER INCENTIVES:
- The Coach will receive a Horizon Fitness treadmill or elliptical, $1000, and a trip to the 2013 Girls on the Run Summit
- The council will receive $500
- The participant whose nomination was selected will receive $100!
- RUNNERS UP INCENTIVES (two selected):
- The Coach will receive $250
- The council will receive $250
- The participants whose nominations were selected will each receive a Horizon Fitness prize pack!
